The team behind Pine Street Market, the Avondale Estates shop that turns out a variety of takeaway items, meats, cheeses, and packaged goods, is planning a new venture. The market is partnering with Ranger-based Riverview Farms to open "Atlanta's first 'farmer-owned butcher shop,'" according to an email blast sent to newsletter subscribers.
Details are still up in the air at this point, but ownershop hopes the partnership will result in "cooking classes and events, prepared meals with our new Big Green Egg and Lodge Cast Iron, farm-fresh produce, every cut and item you see at PSM, plus a whole lot more." The Pine Street gang is looking for a location in "the Grant Park area around Memorial Drive." Perhaps a shop in one of the forthcoming developments from Paces Properties could be in the offing?
Similar to Pine Street, the new, as-of-yet-unnamed butcher shop will serve products form local producers such as Doux South, Decimal Place, Global Growers, Wrecking Barn, Unicoi Preserves, and Sweet Grass Dairy.
The email made it clear Pine Street Market's original location at 4A Pine St. will not be moving or closing.
