After announcing a delayed opening timeline earlier this year, The Painted Duck has broken ground in Westside. The boutique bowling alley concept, a spinoff of The Painted Pin in Buckhead, is being installed in the forthcoming Stockyards Atlanta development at 976 Brady Ave.
The Painted Pin owner Justin Amick and partner William Stallworth have been working on a second venture since early 2015. When The Painted Duck was officially announced, Amick hoped to have it open by summer 2016. Now, plans call for a “first quarter 2017” debut.
The Painted Duck will be similar to The Painted Pin, but it will focus on duckpin bowling, which is played with smaller balls and pins. The Painted Pin chef Thomas Collins is creating a menu of “backyard bar fare,” and ownership hopes the final product will be perceived as a "distinguished drinkery, duckpin bowling, and gaming parlor."
