Juicy Jenny Has Shuttered in Buckhead

Jenny Levison cites high overhead for the decision

Yelp/Nestor R.

Juicy Jenny is no more. The Buckhead juice bar from health-conscious restaurateur Jenny Levison closed over the weekend, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Levison announced the closure in an email blast to Juicy Jenny's newsletter subscribers.

"The costs of labor, overhead, and organics was just not balancing with the price I felt we could charge, and I did not want to lower the quality of what we were producing," Levison wrote. "I am extremely passionate about good food, good people, and nourishing our community through sitting around the table and sharing an experience. I promise that we will always strive to take care of each of you as if I were receiving you in my home."

Levison continues to operate her Souper Jenny concept, which focuses on soups and sandwiches at locations in Brookhaven, Buckhead, Decatur, and Westside. Levison said her juices will eventually become part of the operation at one of these restaurants.

"I have felt privileged for the past three years to have offered our community an organic haven of cold pressed juices, smoothies, and a 100 percent gluten-free and vegan lunch bar and bakery," Levison wrote. "It was my mission to teach our community more about whole foods and how they play a role in our daily health, and it has been an honor to serve you."
