The second location for Gusto, a health-conscious, fast-casual restaurant from former NFL quarterback Nate Hybl, is officially open for business. Replacing The Real Chow Baby at 782 Ponce de Leon Ave. NE in Virginia-Highland, Hybl's latest venture began serving Friday morning at 11 a.m.

The original Gusto opened in Brookwood Hills at 1935 Peachtree Rd. NE in October 2014. The concept focuses on grilled proteins and "gustos," flavor profiles in the form of sauces, fresh vegetables and fruits, and fresh garnishes. Gusto's menu offers build-your-own salads, rice bowls, sandwiches, and wraps, plus a selection of house-made combinations.

The new location may be just the beginning for major Gusto expansion. Hybl plans to take the brand to "new markets in the coming months." Thus far, details on future openings have not been revealed.

The Gusto team calls the Ponce location's design "sunny and smart," and it appears to check most of the boxes for today's trends. Look for exposed brick and ductwork, concrete floors, and yellow accents that pop against the white walls and ceiling. Large windows let in plenty of natural light.

Gusto Ponce is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. Take a look inside the modern, minimalist space via the photos below.
