Oak Steakhouse, the Charleston-based shrine to red meat that opened an outpost at Alpharetta’s Avalon development in October 2014, is undergoing a change of leadership in the kitchen. Executive chef Eric Zizka is heading north to helm Oak’s forthcoming Music City location, reports Eater Nashville. A representative for the restaurant tells Eater Atlanta Michael Perez will take Zizka’s place in the Oak Avalon kitchen.
In addition to his new responsibilities at the steakhouse, Perez serves as executive chef at neighboring Avalon Italian restaurant Colletta, which opened in February 2015. Both fall under the umbrella of Charleston-based restaurant group Indigo Road. At Oak, Perez’s transition will be aided by sous chef Stuart Rogers, who has been in the kitchen since day one.
In addition to Oak Steakhouse and Colletta, Indigo Road operates O-Ku Sushi in Westside.
