Pitmaster Bryan Furman and business partner/wife Nikki are nearing the debut for their Riverside Smokehouse. B’s Cracklin’ Barbeque, which follows the Furmans’ original location in Savannah, is on track to open in September.

"We are looking to do two weekends of soft openings," Bryan Furman tells Eater Atlanta. "The week of September 15, then having our grand opening afterwards."

The Furmans first revealed plans for their Atlanta outpost back in July. They originally opened their Savannah smokehouse in 2014, but it was destroyed by a fire in June 2015. Thanks in part to an outpouring of community support, B’s Cracklin’ reopened at a new address last October.

Once they’re in business at 2061 Main St. NW (the former Hottie Hawgs BBQ space), the Furmans will feature chopped whole hog dressed with a South Carolina-style mustard sauce. Other barbecue staples — smoked pork ribs, chicken, and brisket — will be available too.

B’s Cracklin’ has quickly gained a loyal following. Southern Living named it to the magazine’s list of the South’s 50 best barbecue restaurants for 2016. Garden & Gun has highlighted the restaurant on multiple occasions.
