The parent company of local sports bar chain Hudson Grille is working on a new concept that will cater directly to soccer fans. Metrotainment Cafes will open Hudson FC in Brookhaven’s former Pub 71 space this fall, according to a Monday announcement.
“We’ve heard from a lot of our fans that they want to watch soccer games at our Hudson Grille locations, but our focus on football, basketball, baseball, etc. conflicts with many of the biggest soccer games,” Metrotainment Cafes chief executive officer Jeff Landau said in a prepared statement. “Hudson FC will be a perfect opportunity for fans to catch their favorite matches and enjoy the same top quality expectations they get with our Hudson Grille restaurants, including great staff, food quality, bar program, and more.”
Hudson FC will serve as a space to watch games from European leagues on weekend mornings, but it has an eye on the local game too. A press release describes Metrotainment’s focus as being “ in line with the growing interest in soccer and the addition of Atlanta’s own professional soccer team, Atlanta United FC.” The expansion MLS franchise begins play next season.
The menu will be similar to what’s found at Hudson Grille, but it will be geared more toward the idea of pub fare. Look for dishes such as fish and chips, beef and pork meatloaf, and a variety of flat breads.
The restaurant at 4058 Peachtree Road will undergo some “minor renovations,” and it should be ready to open by mid-October.
