An opening could come by the end of the year

Java Cats Cafe, one of two new cat cafes in the works for Atlanta, has an address locked down. Owner Hadyn Hilton took to Instagram Thursday evening to announce she’s signed a lease in Grant Park.

Hilton tells Eater Atlanta Java Cats is opening at 415 Memorial Dr. SE, Suite C. That’s a prime location in the development that is also home to Tin Lizzy’s Cantina. It’s down the street from Six Feet Under and  Octane Coffee + Little Tart Bakeshop at the Jane development. She hopes to have the cafe up and running in late November or early December.

Java Cats is partnering with Paws Atlanta to foster up to 20 felines at a time in the cafe’s "cat room" — should you fall in love on a visit, all of the cats will be adoptable. The Gathering, part of a non-profit organization that offers homeless individuals a path to success through training in the culinary arts, will provide prepared food items.
