Atlanta’s cycling community now has a coffeeshop that caters directly to its interests. Cafe + Velo, from artist Jeff Demetriou and Atlanta Beltline Bikes owner Ben Boisson, is certified open at 381 Edgewood Ave. SE in Sweet Auburn. The shop is serving Octane Coffee and a French-inspired menu from baker and chef Eric Dauce.
The Cafe + Velo team hopes the shop will be a destination for locals who wish to leave their cars behind. The owners tout a location that’s easily accessible by “foot, dedicated bike lanes, MARTA, or the streetcar,” and they offer bikes for rent by the day or week. Inside, a vending machine full of spare parts is ready to serve anyone who already owns a bike and is in need of a quick repair.
Cafe + Velo is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Take a look inside via the photos below.
