Former Table 1280 chef Bhavesh Patel has a new gig in Inman Park. Patel is on board as executive chef at Amara, the forthcoming Indian fusion spot from Tabla owner Sandeep Kothary.
In addition to his time running the kitchen at Table 1280, Patel has served as chef de cuisine at Spice Market and Morningside Kitchen, local restaurateur Tom Murphy’s eatery that recently replaced Rosebud on North Highland Avenue. At Amara, he'll turn out an "Indian-inspired American menu."
The restaurant, scheduled to open this fall at 870 Inman Village Pkwy NE, boasts an address adjacent to the BeltLine’s Eastside Trail. Amara's 3,700-square-foot space will seat around 150 people and feature a vaulted ceiling, open kitchen, glass-backed bar overlooking a sunken dining room, and outdoor seating on a patio facing North Highland Avenue.
