The Battery, the mixed-use development that will surround the Atlanta Braves’ new Cobb County ballpark, has another big name on board. Denver-based Punch Bowl Social will open at the development this fall, and Hugh Acheson is the restaurant’s “culinary partner.”

Acheson joined the Punch Bowl Social team in August, taking charge of menu design. The chain boasts locations in Denver, Austin, Detroit, Portland, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, and the Chicago suburb of Schaumburg, Ill. The concept brings Southern-inspired dining and various games together — think of a fancier version of Dave & Buster’s

The Atlanta outpost will cover two stories, according to a Tuesday announcement, and it will include eight bowling lanes, three private karaoke rooms, and a bocce court. There will be a 360-degree bar and multiple lounge areas inside, and on the roof, look for a 2,200-square-foot patio with expansive views.

Previously opened Punch Bowl Social restaurants serve breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. Acheson’s menu is distinctly modern-Southern, and it includes burgers and sandwiches, salads, and “gastro-diner plates.” Dishes at the Austin location include trout with black-eyed pea Succotash, pea shoots, and roasted lemon salsa verde; fried hominy; and “knockoff burger” with two patties, comeback sauce, pickled onion, shredded lettuce, American cheese, and a sesame seed bun.

Plans for The Battery were first announced in October 2015 with names such as Ford Fry, Linton Hopkins, and the Fox brothers on board. Since then, the development has added culinary headliners such as actor Mark Wahlberg’s burger chain, a fried chicken restaurant from chef Marc Taft, and a taproom from Athens-based Terrapin Beer Co. Punch Bowl Social is currently on track for a September debut.

In addition to his work with Punch Bowl Social, Acheson operates Empire State South in Midtown, Five & Ten and The National in Athens, and The Florence in Savannah. He’s also a partner in Ponce City Market’s Spiller Park Coffee.
