Chef Ryan Catherall has been working in the kitchen at Vine & Tap for a couple of months, and now the restaurant is making it official: Catherall is on board as executive chef. Owner Ian Mendelsohn tells Eater Atlanta the Buckhead restaurant’s kitchen has seen a transformation.

“Ryan, since arriving two months ago, has brought a level of professionalism and organization that has drastically transformed our kitchen in ways that are spoken of daily,” Mendelsohn said in a prepared statement.

Among the new dishes Catherall is adding to Vine & Tap’s menu are a warm Brussels sprout salad served with goat cheese, local apples, and honey; head-on Georgia white shrimp; and fried chicken that will pair with sparkling wines on Tuesdays.

Catherall is the son of longtime Atlanta chef and restaurateur Tom Catherall, who came out of retirement to open Taco Cowboy (née Tom Tom) in March 2016. Most recently, the younger Catherall served a brief stint as executive chef at Char Korean Bar & Grill in Inman Park.
