— The restaurant group behind Oak Steakhouse, Colletta, and O-Ku Sushi is planning a Tuscan restaurant for Westside, according to Atlanta Magazine. The Indigo Road reportedly will open Donetto this May in the forthcoming Stockyards Atlanta development at 976 Brady Ave. NW, right across the street from Miller Union. It’s the same development that will house The Painted Duck. Mike Perez, who also runs the kitchen at Colletta will serve as executive chef.
“I want to elevate what we do at Colletta with eight or nine pastas,” Perez tells Atlanta. “I want to talk about the history of the pasta dishes and the folklore behind them. Bringing education to the table is a lot of fun.”
— Sweet Hut Bakery, the Asian-inspired bakery with three Atlanta locations, is adding a fourth. The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports Sweet Hut will take up residence at the Fashion Cafe in Lenox Square. The timeline calls for an April opening.
— Jinya Ramen Bar has filed plans for its second Atlanta outpost, according to What Now Atlanta. The Los Angeles-based ramen shop will take over a Buckhead space that previously housed Uncle Maddio’s Pizza at 3714 Roswell Rd. Franchisee Julie Mei could open as many as five local Jinya locations. There’s no word on when the second Atlanta outpost will begin service.
— After leaving Buckhead in 2015, Nancy’s Pizza will return to the neighborhood. The Chicago-style pizzeria will move into a Buckhead Crossing space at 2625 Piedmont Rd., Suite 44, Tomorrow’s News Today reports. TNT says Nancy’s should open sometime this spring. The previous Buckhead location packed up and headed south for East Point.
— Sports bar chain Yard House, which boasts a restaurant in Atlantic Station, is expanding with a second local outpost at The Battery. The official website indicates it will open adjacent to the Atlanta Braves’ new Cobb County ballpark on March 31.
