Fans of wine bar-restaurant-music venue City Winery’s house varietals will be pleased to learn they can now take those selections to go. City Winery will launch a new growler program this Friday, October 20.
The gist: Patrons can purchase refillable wine bottles from the Ponce City Market-adjacent venue for $5, and they’ll be able to purchase its wines for home consumption. Although, drinking from growlers on the premises will not be permitted. Prices will start at $15.
The new program is set to debut about a month-and-a-half after new laws regarding alcohol sales in Georgia went into effect. Under the relaxed regulations, distilleries, breweries, brewpubs, and, yes, wineries can more easily get their products to consumers and bypass beverage wholesalers.
City Winery opened its Atlanta location in June 2016. The New York-based chain also has locations in the Big Apple, Chicago, Nashville, and Boston.
