The doors are closed permanently at J&J Bourbon Bar & Grill, reports What Now Atlanta. The two-year-old restaurant in Virginia-Highland is now shuttered after what seems like a long series of identity crises. J&J served everything from hookah to bagels to bourbon in its lifetime and underwent a change of management in 2016.
The restaurant replaced Belly General Store, which had a rep for its breakfast menu, so maybe that explains the bagels.
When J&J Bourbon Bar & Grill quietly opened back in 2015, it eschewed a website and Facebook page because it wanted to spead buzz only by word of mouth. At that point the menu spanned everything from breakfast items in the morning and an extensive list of whiskeys in the evening.
