This one’s a throwback: Golden Eagle Diner’s Club, the new restaurant from Ladybird Grove and Mess Hall owner Michael Lennox, is now open in the building that once housed H. Harper Station and now is home to ‘70s-esque taco place Muchacho.
It’s inspired by the restaurants of days gone by (read: the ‘50s and ‘60s) , with a clubby atmosphere and food Lennox described to Eater as “no-nonsense, throwback continental classics of yesteryear.”
That translates to Tavern steak au poivre and broiled oysters along with Corpse Reviver cocktails, according to the very first Yelp review. The decor looks to be dark and moody, with red plaid carpet, vintage glassware and crushed velvet seating.
