Eat Me Speak Me and The SOS Tiki Bar Are Going German for Octoberfest

Glowing Decatur watering hole The SOS Tiki Bar is celebrating Octoberfest this week with its own version of the German festival, appropriately dubbed “Tikitoberfest.” The party goes down this Sunday, October 15, from 5 p.m. until the refreshments are gone.

The SOS will provide the mashed up tiki-German cocktails and vibes, and local beer purveyor Arches Brewing will be on hand with a few of its selections, including Festbier on draft. Resident pop-up Eat Me Speak Me will serve a menu of German-inspired offerings: sauerbraten of beef tongue and shoulder, pretzels and beer mustard made with Arches beer, bratwurst, black forest cake, and the like.

This would be one of the “periodical collaborative events and weird ideas” Eat Me Speak Me chef Jarrett Stieber alluded to when he decided to move away from Sunday brunch service in July.

Food and drink will be available a la carte, and the event is first come, first served.
