One of Midtown’s go-to cocktail and oyster happy hour spots is no more. AJC reports that Grain closed over the weekend at 856 W. Peachtree St. The bar announced the news of its closure on Facebook:
Grain opened back in 2014 as a replacement to MidCity Cafe. The bar and restaurant originally was headed up by restaurateur and owner Billy Streck, with Kevin Bragg, Drew Van Leuvan, and Rob Caswick of Seven Lamps. Bragg told Eater back in 2015 that he aimed for Grain to be a little like Cheers, albeit an upscale version with Old Fashioneds and nitrogen frozen caramel popcorn.
