It’s almost taco time for The El Felix’s new location at The Battery Atlanta. Chef-owner Ford Fry’s beloved Tex-Mex restaurant will open its doors near SunTrust Park on Monday, November 20, according to a press release.
The El Felix at The Battery Atlanta will be open for lunch and dinner all year round at 455 Legends Place SE, Suite 800. Chef Kevin Maxey will serve up the Mexican-inspired staples fans know from the Alpharetta location, and the new spot will also offer exclusive menu items for both The Battery Atlanta visitors and Atlanta Braves game-goers.
Think tacos de carnitas consisting of slow-cooked pork shoulder topped with cilantro, onions and spicy salsa cremosa, along with tacos dorados or pan-fried tacos stuffed with shrimp, mushrooms and cheese and enchiladas suizas.
A taco truck is actually being built into the restaurant’s design too. A 1947 Raymond Lowey-inspired taco truck will offer mobile snacks like nachos with spicy brisket chili, queso, sour cream and jalapenos escabeche; or steak and chicken tacos al carbon.
When The El Felix at The Battery Atlanta opens, it will serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Dinner hours will be 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays. The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays and game days and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays. The food truck hours are TBD for now.
