Beloved corn dog emporium Pallookaville Fine Foods is pulling the plug on its brick and mortar location in Avondale Estates, and fans are taking it hard. The owners announced the news in a Facebook post, and there are 125 comments bemoaning the closure of the restaurant. The positive comments ranged from "Oh no! I really liked that place! The pimento cheese was off the chain!!" to "We would have loved to have had one last milkshake."
The food truck is continuing, however. The Pallookaville’s restaurant had a tumultuous go of it in the past few years. In December 2015, owner Jim Stacy put it up for sale, and and James Maggard and Jason Hylton bought Pallookaville in 2016. The restaurant then closed for a bit, and reopened under the new management in the spring of 2016 after a three-month absence. Then this year, it made news due to a stabbing during an altercation between employees and health inspection issues.
