The second Atlanta location of New York City’s popular The Halal Guys food cart-turned-restaurant chain has finally been revealed. Expect gyros, sandwiches, rice and meat platters at Modera in Midtown, a residential high-rise complex currently under construction. The 1,486 square-foot restaurant will be located street level on 8th Street.
“Much like New York City, Midtown Atlanta is a vibrant, fast paced, diverse metropolitan community very rich in culture,” Atlanta’s director of operations for The Halal Guys Joe Hafez said via press release.
The Halal Guys will join Atlanta-based Momonoki from the team behind Decatur’s Brush Sushi Izakaya. The restaurant plans to serve ramen, rice bowls, and Japanese small plates.
The Halal Guys opened their first store in Atlanta on Buford Highway in January 2017. Long lines were not unusual during the restaurant’s first weeks in business. The chain restaurant, which began as a cart in Manhattan in 1990, serves Halal food prepared in accordance to Islamic law.
