Thanks to a handy tip from an Eater reader, MidCity Cafe (which abruptly closed in July 2014) has reopened in the space it formerly occupied for 10 years on West Peachtree Street in Midtown. That space also happens to be the former location of the recently shuttered Grain Bar. Grain closed at the end of October after two years in business.
Eater Atlanta reached out to the owners of MidCity Cafe who, through a spokesperson, confirmed both the reopening and the location. The spokesperson told Eater Atlanta that owners Bobi and Goran Stevkovski have partnered with Justin Hong, the owner of the cafe space, in this latest iteration.
The cafe portion of the business will serve a light food menu of paninis and hopes to open for lunch soon. On the beverage side, expect craft cocktails by Tristan Andersen, wine, and beer as well as espresso and coffee drinks from Italy’s illy coffee.
“We’ll be continuing the happy hour tradition, however, we’ll also be a social spot where people from the different communities [art, music, business etc.] will get together and mingle,” the spokesperson says.
Before their closure in 2014, the cafe had a regular happy hour following and catered to Midtown’s late night crowd and nearby residents.
