Alex Bolduc has been named executive chef of Top Chef judge, author, and restaurateur Hugh Acheson’s Achie’s Restaurant inside the forthcoming Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta.

Acheson announced his latest restaurant project at the stadium complex back in August which he said will serve Southern fare for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Bolduc has worked with Acheson previously in the kitchen at Five & Ten in Athens before moving to the San Francisco bay area to pursue his interest in wine and work as the chef for Robert Sinskey Vineyards.

“The opportunity to cook with Hugh at Achie’s is a true homecoming for me,” Bolduc said via press release. “I was born and raised in Atlanta and went to college in Athens, and after cooking around the globe, I am thrilled to return home.”

Acheson says he’s “beyond thrilled” to be working with Bolduc in the kitchen again and is excited to see what the chef brings to the menu from his work and travels both in the United States and abroad.

Look for riffs on Southern dishes as well as poutine, burgers, and ballpark snacks such as Achie Jack’s made from popped sorghum, benne seeds, and farro to be on the menu.

The Omni Hotel at the Battery is scheduled to open in January 2018 adjacent to the Atlanta Braves’ SunTrust Park.
