Coffee drinkers who are troubled by current events in America will be pleased to learn of an upcoming fundraising campaign from Sprudge. The online publication dedicated to coffee culture and news has put together a national drive to support the American Civil Liberties Union. This Friday through Sunday, participating venues across the country will donate proceeds to the ACLU.
In Atlanta, the following restaurants and cafes are confirmed to be donating a portion of coffee sales to the organization:
- Bread & Butterfly
- Cakes & Ale
- Cool Beans Coffee Roasters (all locations)
- Condesa Coffee (all locations)
- Hodgepodge Coffeehouse
- Little Tart Bakeshop at Krog Street Market
- Octane Coffee (all locations)
- ParkGrounds
- Proof Bakeshop
- Revelator Coffee (all locations)
- Revolution Doughnuts & Coffee (all locations)
- Spiller Park Coffee
“The ACLU is America’s non-partisan guardian of liberty, working tirelessly since 1920 to defend the country’s original civic values, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights,” reads the fundraising announcement from Sprudge. “They have no political affiliation or ideological component to their mission. Today they’re defending innocent refugee and immigrant families impacted by the recent executive orders — tomorrow they could be defending you, because they are committed to defending all of us.”
This story will be updated should more local establishments join the campaign.
