The Morningside space that was home to Madre + Mason has sold, and a new restaurant is in the works. Anish and Paul Nair of local market chain Savi Provisions will open Jai Ho Indian Kitchen & Bar at 560 Dutch Valley Rd. NE, according to a listing from local real estate firm The Shumacher Group.
There aren’t many details at the moment, but Jai Ho is expected to come to fruition as “an upscale, casual, hip, and cool Indian fusion restaurant,” according to the listing.
Madre + Mason, which opened in October 2015 as a Southern-Latin fusion destination, closed last month. Owners Calavino Donati and Doria Roberts revealed they needed to sell the business to fund the purchase of the building that houses another one of their ventures, Urban Cannibals in Midtown. Donati and Roberts need to make upgrades to the building, and their bodega and cafe has been temporarily shuttered since November. The two also operate Tipple + Rose Tea Parlor + Apothecary in Virginia-Highland.
The Nairs operate Savi Provisions markets in Brookhaven, Buckhead, Inman Park, and Midtown.
