The Clermont Lounge Dancers Are Throwing a Charity Car Wash

And The Mercury is raising money with dressed-up hot dogs

The Clermont Lounge has been closed for renovations since New Year’s Day, which means, Peaches, Blondie, and the rest of the dive bar/strip club’s entertainers have been out of work for nearly two months. In an effort to ease the financial burden, a charity car wash is on the docket. B3 Bar and Grill, located at 2523 Veterans Memorial Hwy. SW in Austell, is hosting the event this Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and the Clermont ladies will be washing cars and accepting donations. Look for plenty of cold beer and live music too. For anyone who has ever wanted to meet their favorite dancer in the light of day, this is the opportunity.

The Mercury, Ponce City Market’s shrine to mid-century dining, is relaunching a weekly fundraiser series on March 4. Dubbed “The Helpful Hot Dog,” the series will bring in a rotation of guest chefs to give their personal takes on the American classic. Dogs will be available at The Shed at Ponce City Market from noon to 3 p.m. each Saturday. Beef hot dogs are $5 and chicken and veggie dogs are $6, and proceeds will benefit a variety of local non-profits. Chefs committed the fundraiser include Nick Leahy (Saltyard), Zeb Stevenson (Watershed), the team at Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q, Andrew Smith (West Egg Cafe), Cameron Thompson (Farm Burger) and more.
