The team behind The Pinewood in Decatur and Ponce City Market’s The Mercury has a couple of new projects in the works. A representative for Julian Goglia, Brooks Cloud, and Mike Blydenstein confirmed they are working on two Italian ventures: Bar Americano and Bar Crema.

Bar Americano will serve lunch and dinner, and the adjoining Bar Crema will offer take-away items, desserts, gelato, and coffees. The beverage program will be inspired by classic cocktails and Italian aperitivos, and like those found at The Pinewood and The Mercury, it will focus premium spirits and housemade ingredients. The early timeline calls for a summer 2017 debut.

The restaurateurs are taking over the former Prohibition space at 56 East Andrews Dr. NW. Prohibition was part of the now-defunct East Andrews Entertainment District, which shut down in December 2015.

Goglia, Cloud, and Blydenstein opened The Pinewood at 254 West Ponce de Leon Ave. in May 2012, and they followed that up with The Mercury on the second floor of Ponce City Market’s Central Food Hall in January 2016. The group debuted a renovated and expanded version of their Decatur restaurant two months ago. They also operate Proof, a company that produces artisanal cocktail syrups.
