Revolution Gelato, which has been slinging vegan frozen desserts out of the Global Grub Collective in East Atlanta since July, is looking to expand operations. Owners Jared Olkin and Leah Sitkin want to grow their menu, but they need help from loyal patrons. The brother-and-sister team has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund new equipment and signage in their space.
Should they secure the funding, Olkin and Sitkin will install a new, larger freezer; stall display and prep counter; dedicated electrical for a waffle cone-maker; and a new menu board and signage. The payoff will be new flavors, housemade waffle cones, shakes, and sundaes.
For donating as little as $5, backers can get a compostable Revolution Gelato sticker and “our permanent gratitude announced online.” Rewards for donations increase all the way up to $2,500, which comes with some apparent creative control.
“You name it,” reads the campaign. “Seriously, let us know what you're thinking (before you pledge) and we'll let you know if we can make it happen. Open to big, crazy, ridiculous ideas, regardless of if or how they relate to gelato.”
As of this posting, the campaign has raised $2,025 from 22 backers. Donations are being accepted for 16 more days.
