Common Quarter, the East Cobb restaurant helmed by executive chef Jeffrey Gardner, closed for the final time on Saturday night. It’s the end of a run that lasted nearly three-and-a-half years.
Last month, parent company Unsukay Concepts announced Common Quarter would shut down to make way for a second Muss & Turner’s location at 1205 Johnson Ferry Rd. It’s on track to open in about a month, and it will offer counter service during the day and table service at night. Muss & Turner’s originally opened in Smyrna in 2005.
“While Common Quarter is beloved by many, at the end of the day, the restaurant was ultimately the vision and DNA of ex-partner Chris Talley’s,” Unsukay co-founder Ryan Turner said when the change was announced. “Though Common Quarter was a fantastic restaurant, we also saw an exciting opportunity for us to grow Muss & Turner’s and bring the East Cobb community a unique concept unlike anything in their area — a chef-driven, flex-casual restaurant.”
