Muss & Turner’s has been a staple in Smyrna since 2005, and its popularity has resulted in a second location. In January, the folks at Unsukay Concepts revealed plans to close down Common Quarter in Marietta expand their Smyrna brand in its place. Common Quarter went dark in February, and Muss & Turner’s East Cobb is ready for a soft opening this week. A grand-opening party is expected in early April.

The revamped, rebranded restaurant sits at 1205 Johnson Ferry Road., Suite 101. One big change to the space is found on the former Common Quarter patio, which has been enclosed to offer sun-room seating year round. Interior design elements include murals by Muss & Turner’s Smyrna server Rachel Bongard, photographs taken by co-owner Todd Mussman’s brother Michael, and 10 synchronized televisions playing classic music videos.

“We enjoyed weaving in some familiar iconic elements into the design and decor of East Cobb, but we were stoked to get creative with new ideas too,” co-owner Ryan Turner says. “If someone is looking for a carbon copy of M&T Smyrna, they’ll be disappointed. We’re not ‘rubber-stamping’ it. This is an original and we’re really excited about the environment we created. We ultimately designed a place that maintains our brand, but is also an exclusive experience to this neighborhood.”
