After a two-and-a-half-year run in Westside, Bellwoods Social House has closed its doors for the last time, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The restaurant announced its shutter on Instagram.
The closing was somewhat abrupt, but the writing had been on the wall for at least a month. In February, owner Leif Johnson put Bellwoods on the market so he could focus on his Alpharetta restaurant, Bite Bar & Bistro.
Before housing Bellwoods, the space at 1000 Marietta Street NW was home to West & Mill Bistro and Bar. Johnson opened his restaurant in August 2014 with a focus on gastropub fare. It isn’t clear whether the business is still on the market, or if there is a new owner with plans for a concept of their own.
