The Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway Hotel, part of an emerging complex in College Park, has a restaurant on board. Hickory & Hazel Southern Table and Bar is being installed off the hotel’s lobby, and it’s slated to debut this May.
The kitchen team has not yet been announced, but Hickory & Hazel will serve Southern fare such as sweet tea-brined chicken and waffles and grilled bourbon-cider pork chops with potato puree and glazed Vidalia onions. The beverage program will include a so-called Bar Ritual, which will allow curious drinkers to sample complementary punch and get a lesson in cocktail recipes and techniques four nights a week. Evenings at Renaissance events will include painting classes, wine tastings, and performances from local musicians.
Hickory & Hazel will take up 2,976 square feet and seat 106 patrons in the dining room and bar.
“Renaissance guests are true social discoverers looking for unique experiences,” Donelle Zunker, dual general manager of Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway and Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway hotels, said in a prepared statement. “Whether staying the night or stopping by for a drink, Hickory & Hazel will offer visitors an opportunity to discover an experience that is uniquely Atlanta.”
