Atlanta may soon be the cat cafe capital of the South. On the heels of Java Cats Cafe announcing its planned debut within the next couple of weeks, Happy Tabby Cat Cafe has revealed it too is nearing a launch date. Owner April Hill expects to open her doors sometime next month, according to an Instagram post.
Happy Tabby is moving into an Old Fourth Ward space at 529 Irwin Street NE. The building, which was erected in 1900, is in a prime location, less than a half-mile from the Martin Luther King Center in one direction and the BeltLine’s Eastside Trail in the other. When it opens, Happy Tabby will serve pre-packaged foods and “standard coffee beverages.” The business will partner with no-kill animal shelter Furkids and will regularly foster 15 to 20 adoptable felines.
The location isn’t too far from Java Cats, which is opening at 415 Memorial Drive. SE, Suite C, in Grant Park.
