Clermont Lounge Pushes Reopening Date to May

More construction delays

Atlanta’s night owls haven’t been able to get their Clermont Lounge fix all year, and the wait for the iconic dive bar and strip club to reopen endures. After missing its April 1 target due to “construction delays,” the Clermont now plans to be back in business no later than May 1.

“Construction delays continue, but we should open no later than May 1st!” reads a recent Facebook post. “Looking forward to our big grand reopening party!!!!”

The Clermont has been dark since January 1 because of a restoration project that is bringing the old Clermont Hotel back to life. Initial plans called for a reopening around February 15, and the goal was pushed to April after that date flew by. Construction crews are working to transform the above hotel into modern, boutique lodging. But don’t worry, Peaches, Blondie, and the rest of the lounge’s dancers will still be able to ply their trade at the site.
