New Grant Park restaurant Mediterranea has added lunch service to its operation. Executive chef Rob Haan and sous chef Anthony Gallego are serving a Mediterranean-inspired menu of exclusively gluten-free dishes, with several vegan and vegetarian options.
The new lunch menu, which made its debut Wednesday, includes soups; salads; sides; and a list of entrees including sandwiches, a flatbread pizza, and a grain bowl. Lunch is available Wednesday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Mediterranea opened at 332 Ormond Street SE in January. Owners Gerard Nudo and Gary McElroy saw it as an opportunity to execute their gluten-free lifestyles in restaurant form. Dinner is served Wednesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and brunch is available Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A counter serving coffee and baked goods is open seven days a week from 7 am. to 1 p.m.
