WESTSIDE — White Provisions District gourmet market Preserving Place will close its doors for good at the end of the day on Sunday, April 30. Proprietor Martha McMillin is moving on to resumer her law career, according to Atlanta Magazine. From now until the shutter, Preserving Place goods will be discounted, and McMillin is taking bids for kitchen equipment and furniture.
“My family—and friends—are my inspiration for Preserving Place: I wanted to express my love of family, friends, place (the South), and hospitality,” McMillin told Atlanta. “I hoped we would earn awards and recognition for making delicious food and could educate folks about [how to cook and preserve good food]. I am happy we did those things.”
CHAMBLEE — Cuban eatery Havana Restaurant has closed on Buford Highway, reports Tomorrow’s News Today. Sister restaurant Havana Sandwich Shop remains open in Brookhaven, but owner Debbie Benedit tells TNT she struggled to draw business at the Chamblee location.
BUCKHEAD — Raja Indian Restaurant has closed at 2955 Peachtree Road after 37 years of business, according to Tomorrow’s News Today. Reasoning for the shutter was not announced. The restaurant closed quietly earlier this month, leaving a note on the front door that expressed “our deep gratitude for your business and support.”
