Mercedes-Benz Stadium Will Have a Restaurant That Overlooks the Playing Field

It will be operated by a ‘highly renowned Atlanta restaurant group’

The dining options at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, forthcoming home of the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United FC, will include an open-air, tiered club-restaurant that overlooks the playing field. Plans are not finalized, but some details were revealed in a survey emailed to a selection of Atlanta United fans Friday afternoon.

The restaurant will be located near the main entrance, and it will be backed by the massive windows that offer a view of downtown from inside the stadium, according to information in the survey, which is seeking fan input before final decisions are made. Falcons and United supporters can expect a “Southern-inspired concept” that will offer “a chef-driven menu sourced from fresh local and regional favorites, with an extensive wine and cocktail program and an impressive regional craft beer selection.” The operator has not been determined, but it will be “a highly renowned Atlanta restaurant group,” according to the survey

The restaurant will be open to the public, but VIP club memberships will be available to provide “exclusive access, complementary upscale food, and non-alcoholic beverages” for three hours prior to kickoff. Members will be able to reserve tables during games, and memberships will include perks related to the restaurant, stadium, and outside restaurants owned by the operating company.

The survey does not directly mention chefs and hospitality groups under consideration for the restaurant, but it does ask for respondents’ familiarity with The Iberian Pig (operated by Castellucci Hospitality Group), Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q, Cooks & Soldiers (Castellucci), Antico Pizza, Gunshow (chef Kevin Gillespie’s Red Beard Restaurants), The General Muir, One Midtown Kitchen (Concentrics Restaurants), Revival (Red Beard), and Two Urban Licks (Concentrics).

Antico, Fox Bros., and The Iberian Pig are already on board Mercedes-Benz Stadium’s dining roster. Concentrics Restaurants has signed on to open a new venture, Golden Brown & Delicious, at the stadium, as has Red Beard Restaurants with Kevin Gillespie’s Gamechanger.

Previously scheduled to make its debut for an Atlanta United game against Orlando City SC on July 30, Mercedes-Benz Stadium is now scheduled to open for the Falcons’ preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals on August 26.
