GRANT PARK — Firepit Pizza Tavern, from chef Leslie Cohen, is the latest restaurant to join the dining roster at Grant Park’s Larkin on Memorial mixed use development. Cohen, a past winner on Food Network’s competition show Cutthroat Kitchen, hopes to open her restaurant this fall, reports What Now Atlanta. Firepit will serve “tavern-style pizzas” that are cooked in brick ovens.
Cohen’s project joins a few more restaurants that are already on board at the Memorial Drive development. Last September, Taqueria del Sol announced a new location at Larkin, and the team behind Taiyo Ramen revealed plans for a new restaurant called Ramen Station. They’ll be joined by Grant Park Market, which comes from the owners of Candler Park Market.
ALPHARETTA — Godavari, a Massachusetts-based South Indian chain, is opening its first Georgia location at Alpharetta’s Windward Promenade, according to Tomorrow’s News Today. The restaurant will take over the former home of Hudson Grille, which is reportedly moving its Alpharetta outpost to the former Champps Americana space near North Point Mall. Godavari’s expansive menu includes “Hyderabadi biryani, 100 varieties of dosas, Indo-Chinese specialities, and many more Indian-flavored dishes,” per its website.
ATLANTIC STATION — Birmingham-based Steel City Pops is moving in on King of Pops’s territory and slinging popsicles out of a cart Atlantic Station. The cart is operating now through September, according to an official announcement. This is the first Atlanta outpost for Steel City Pops, which is working on plans to open a local brick-and-mortar in the near future.
