Having already expanded from food truck to take-away counter, Mix’d Up Burgers will open its first full-service restaurant Monday, May 8, at 2371 Hosea L. Williams Drive. It will be the third restaurant to begin service at East Lake’s growing Hosea + 2nd development.
Chef-owner Brett Eans is the creator of Mix’d Up Burgers. The restaurant will serve — shocker — a variety of cheeseburgers and loaded fries.
Mix’d Up Burgers follows The Greater Good Barbecue, which opened in August 2016, and Poor Hendrix, which came online in November. Mary Hoopa’s House of Fried Chicken & Oysters, from One Eared Stag chef Robert Phalen, is scheduled to make its debut at Hosea + 2nd in June.
The development, rising at the intersection of Hosea L. Williams Drive and Second Avenue, was originally announced as a four-restaurant deal. The partners behind the project — restaurateurs Clay Harper and Mike Nelson and Jay Martin and Nathan Bolster of ReDevStudio — have since revealed plans for Phase II and are eyeing another restaurant, a coffeeshop, retail, office space, and residential units. Hosea + 2nd is going full-on mixed-use.
