Emerald City Bagels brick and mortar shop is finally set to open this summer in East Atlanta Village (EAV).
As we previously reported, the traveling bagel pop-up run by mother-daughter duo Deanna and Jackie Halcrow will be housed in the former Gravity Pub space on Glenwood Avenue in EAV. The shop will feature a state-of-the-art oven and kettle that will allow customers to watch as the New York-style bagels are created daily. The Halcrows plan to expand their current bagel menu to include pumpernickel, rye, egg, and whole grain as well as bagel sandwiches and craft sodas. As this will be more of a grab-and-go set-up, limited seating will be available for in-store dining.
Emerald City is part of a 20,000 square foot redevelopment project along Glenwood Avenue by Paces Properties who plan to fill the renovated space with small, local businesses in keeping with the vibe of the area. Paces partner David Cochran says Emerald City is “a great fit” for the East Atlanta community and “answers the demand for breakfast” in the village.
Eater Atlanta reached out to Paces Properties for an opening day ETA and was told nothing was firm but it would be “later this summer.” We can confirm, however, that Emerald City will continue to supply freshly-made bagels to their current line-up of coffee shops and markets around Atlanta after the shop opens for business.
Continue to check back for updates.
Emerald City Bagels will be open 7 days a week from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 1257 Glenwood Ave. SE, Atlanta. emeraldcitybagels.com.
