Curry laksa at Co
Co

Charleston-based restaurant Co opened its doors Monday in the 675 North Highland development. It’s the mini-chain’s fifth location, following the original Charleston HQ (open since 2012), founded by an ex-Marine who was stationed in southeast Asia. The other locations are in Savannah, Myrtle Beach, and Charlotte.

The menu comes from the company’s executive chef Masanori Shiraishi, and is a mixed bag of dishes from across southeast Asia, although there’s a solid selection of Vietnamese options — pho, banh mi, fried rice-esque com chien, amongst others. Malaysia gets some representation in the form of laksa, the coconut curry soup, and there are Thai curry and noodle dishes. It’s rounded out with some decidedly non-southeast Asian dishes, including sushi and poke — peep the menu below.

A cocktail program is on the way progressively throughout Co’s first month, and will include infused sake and boba tea (i.e. bubble tea).

The space features exposed brick and reclaimed wood, along with a patio on North Highland. Co is open for dinner only up until Thursday — lunch service starts Friday.
