Asheville’s Buxton Hall Barbecue is one of the hottest new smokehouses in America, and pitmaster Elliott Moss is coming to Atlanta for a dinner at Eat Me Speak Me. Moss will collaborate with chef Jarrett Stieber’s pop-up, with currently serves out of The SOS Tiki Bar in Decatur, on Sunday, July 23.
Complete details have not been released, but an EMSM Instagram post indicates the dinner will be accompanied by some special beers from Athens-based Creature Comforts.
Buxton Hall, owned by the team behind Chai Pani, opened in August 2015, taking over an old skating rink in Asheville. Bon Appetit named it as America’s ninth-best new restaurant in 2016. Moss takes his cues from Eastern North Carolina and specializes in whole-hog cue with tangy vinegar sauce, and he supplements his menu with creative Southern fare such as “smoked fried catfish.”
In April, Stieber moved Eat Me Speak Me to The SOS and began serving five nights a week. The pop-up had previously operated as a weekend operation at tiny Candler Park diner Gato, which is now home to chef Parnass Lim Savang’s Talat Market pop-up.
