This sort of news has been prematurely shared before, but iconic strip club/dive bar/dance hall The Clermont Lounge claims its reopening is imminent. After closing for renovations on New Year’s Day, the Clermont has announced on Facebook it will be back in business this weekend, “pending final approval.”
After nearly 8 months of renovations, the The Clermont Lounge is reopening this weekend. CBS46 is the only station to see what's new at Atlanta's longest running strip club.

Kai Beech of CBS 46 got an early look inside, and lo and behold, it actually looks like the space is ready for Blondie, Peaches, and the gang to take the stage. An official reopening date could be revealed on Tuesday, according to The Clermont’s Facebook post.
The Poncey-Highland landmark has been dark for nearly eight months as an extensive restoration project has transformed the Clermont Hotel upstairs. Boarded up since 2009, the new-and-improved hotel will soon offer modern, boutique lodging. Most importantly, developers have promised the seedy basement nightclub will remain in operation down below.
The timeline originally called for The Clermont Lounge to reopen in mid-February, but that target was pushed, and subsequently missed, each month since. In the meantime, there have been charity carwashes and crowdfunding campaigns to support the club’s dancers. Now, at long last, it appears they’re about to be back on the clock.
