Construction delays opening yet again

Fans and loyal regulars of the Clermont Lounge will have to wait a little longer for the doors to open.

The reopening of the iconic bar and strip club located in the basement of the Clermont Hotel off of Ponce de Leon was set for this weekend but has been delayed yet again by construction. According to an article published by 11Alive late Wednesday evening, the news organization was told the club’s sprinkler system is to blame this time.

No official reopening date has been given only that once the issue with the sprinkler system’s water supply is resolved, the Clermont will be ready for its close up and the adoring public.

It’s been nearly seven months since the club closed its doors for renovations on January 1. It was slated to reopen in mid-February. Several false alarms claimed its triumphant return but due to the remodeling of the hotel above the Lounge, the reopening date continued to be pushed out further. However, it seems this is a small hiccup and once the sprinkler system is back online, the Clermont will be back in business.

Eater Atlanta has reached out to the Clermont for comment. Stay tuned.
