With its own “neighborhood bar” inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons, Athens-based Terrapin Beer Co. has concocted a brew to honor Falcons legend Jessie “The Hammer” Tuggle. The pale ale is called Hammer 58, referencing Tuggle’s jersey number, and it checks in at an appropriate 5.8 percent abv.
Hammer 58 is made with Terrapin’s Falconers Flight hop blend, and it will be available at The Benz and select bars around town in time for the Falcons’ regular-season home opener against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, September 17. Terrapin’s neighborhood bar inside the stadium is located on the 100-level concourse outside Section 106.
The dining options at Mercedes-Benz Stadium include some big names from Atlanta’s restaurant scene, and there will be a variety of selections that are actually affordable. The Falcons held their first preseason home game at The Benz last Saturday, and their final preseason home game is scheduled for this Thursday. Major League Soccer team

Atlanta United FC, which is also a tenant, will play its first home game at the stadium against FC Dallas on Sunday, September 10.
Tuggle played his entire NFL career, which spanned from 1987 to 2000, with the Falcons. Over 14 seasons, the linebacker earned five Pro Bowl selections, and he played in the Super Bowl in 1998. He is a member of the Falcons’ Ring of Honor and the team has retired his number.
