Brewed beverages and whole beans fromBirmingham-based caffeine purveyor Revelator Coffee Company will soon be available at Savi Provisions locations around Atlanta. Revelator has added Savi as a wholesale account, and the local market chain plans revamp its coffee bars as Revelator at Savi Provisions.
Savi will deploy La Marzocco espresso machines and serve a selection of Revelator’s specialty coffee and tea drinks. Bags of whole beans will be available for purchase, too. Randy Anderson, previously of Joy Café, Chattahoochee Coffee Company, and Corso Coffee, will oversee operations. The first updated coffee bar should be up and running at Savi’s Brookhaven location later this month. Inman Park, Buckhead, and Midtown stores will follow in the coming months, as will a forthcoming Decatur location and a second in Buckhead.
“Savi Provisions is a family-owned business that’s committed to collaborating with Southeastern food and drink producers,” owner Paul Nair said in a prepared statement. “We’re excited to elevate the focus on our coffee program and offer the Revelator experience to our guests.”
Eater Atlanta initially reported Revelator at Savi Provisons would be a partnership between the two brands. A Revelator spokesperson has clarified that it is simply a wholesale deal.
“We're very excited about doing business with this family-owned Atlanta grocer, but we feel it's important to clarify that these coffee bars do not reflect a ‘partnership’ nor will they be operated in any way by Revelator Coffee Company,” the spokesperson tells Eater Atlanta. “We appreciate the opportunity to provide our products to Savi's coffee bars and to retail our whole bean coffee on their shelves.”
Revelator opened its first Atlanta cafe in August 2015. Since then, the company has added a few more brick-and-mortar locations, and it made a splash in April by purchasing local favorite Octane Coffee. In August, president Josh Owen revealed the acquisition of Buckhead’s Corso Coffee space, where Revelator will partner with pastry chef Andrea Kirshtein on a new project called The Mourning Dove.
