A new restaurant called Rose + Rye will open at Midtown’s historic “Castle” mansion next month. The venue will cover three floors of dining room and bar space, plus multiple patios and private rooms.

1 Kept Kitchen + Bar owner Thaddeus Keefe is behind the project. Lindsay Owens is on board as executive chef, coming to Atlanta from Minnesota. The Midwestern transplant previously cooked at The Lynhall, Tilia, Unideli, and Creamery Café in the Twin Cities. Rose + Rye’s opening team also includes general manager Jessica Schilling (previously of STK Atlanta), assistant GM Seewai Sayavong (Nan Thai Fine Dining, Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft), sous chef Anu Adebara (Avalon Catering), and pastry chef Charity Everett (1 Kept).

The restaurant will first open for dinner only before eventually adding lunch and brunch services. Owens’s menu is being described as “American fare with a global reach,” which may translate to standard American dining dishes that have been gussied up a bit. Look for items such as a Caesar salad that includes smoked-yogurt-parmesan dressing and a soft-boiled, beet-soaked egg.

This isn’t the first restaurant to take up residence at the Castle property, which sits across from Woodruff Arts Center at 87 15th Street NE. Haus Pub popped up in the space in late 2014. An official opening date for Rose + Rye has not been set.
