Hodgepodge Coffeehouse announces second location
East Atlanta’s Hodgepodge Coffeehouse & Gallery announced via Facebook late Friday afternoon the opening of their Summerhill location in 2019. The coffee shop will join Halfway Crooks Brewery and The General Muir’s latest restaurant, Wood’s Chapel BBQ. Eater Atlanta reported Wood’s Chapel’s plans to open in Summerhill on Tuesday morning.
Officials with real estate investment firm Carter told Curbed Atlanta on Tuesday that Hodgepodge is the second tenant to sign a lease in a new building to be constructed on Hank Aaron Drive.

Cat cafe coming to Marietta near the square
Java Cats Cafe in Grant Park announced late Monday afternoon plans to open a second location of its coffee shop and cat adoption facility a block off of Marietta Square. Owner, Hadyn Hilton has set up a GoFundMe page in order to help offset some of the initial expenses. Hilton is aiming for a May 2018 opening in Marietta. [Instagram]

East Point is getting a mini version of Irwin Street Market
Jake Rothschild, owner of Jake’s Ice Cream and Irwin Street Market, is opening a similar yet smaller market in East Point. According to Atlanta Magazine, the Market at Center Park plans to open in March 2018. The 300-square-foot mini market will include stalls like ramen from former Nexto chef Mihoko Obunai, barbecue from pitmaster Ed Gaile, pasta from Ramsey Eden, pies by Eboni Bowman, and vegan items from Tiffany Cosby. There will also be an outpost of Jake’s Ice Cream. [ATL Mag]
