Upscale Thai restaurant Chai Yo from Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft owner DeeDee Niyomkul has opened at 3050 Peachtree Road in Two Buckhead Plaza.
The restaurant is currently taking limited reservations and will operate in soft-opening mode through the end of January. A grand opening celebration is scheduled to take place on Thursday, February 1, with lunch expected to begin during the last week of January.
Niyomkul collaborated with her mother Nan Niyomkul (Nan Thai Fine Dining) on the menu for Chai Yo which includes contemporary takes on classic Thai dishes like ped palow (braised duck leg and tofu), geah yang (barbecue lamb chop with jicama slaw), and pad thai with jumbo prawns and glass noodles.
Timothy Faulkner (formerly of 8Arm, Octopus Bar, and Lusca) heads the beverage program. Faulkner has developed a Thai-influenced cocktail menu which includes drinks such as the Soot Yod with apple brandy, a pear eau-de-vie, peanut orgeat, curacao, and lime. Beer, wine, sake, and cider are also on the menu at Chai Yo.
Those interested in making reservations through the end of January are being asked to email maria@chaiyoatl.com.
