Fans of Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q and Nashville’s Hattie’s B’s Hot Chicken are in for a real treat next month when brothers Jonathan and Justin Fox host their soon-to-be neighbors for a pop-up on Saturday, February 3. The hot chicken event will be held from 11 a.m. until they sell out at Fox Bros. in Candler Park.
Hattie B’s chef John Lasater is partnering with the brothers Fox for what they’re calling a “mash-up of Hattie B’s meets Fox Bros. plates.”
“Over the years we have gotten to know the fine folks at Hattie B’s, and we are huge fans of what they offer. We were very excited to hear we will be neighbors in Candler Park and offered our support in any way,” Jonathan Fox told Eater Atlanta. “Having Hattie B’s come down and pop up in our kitchen is a fun and tasty way to welcome them to the neighborhood.”
The mash-up menu will include three fried chicken varieties:
- Dark meat plate with one quarter dark meat chicken and two Fox Bros. sides
- White meat plate with one quarter white meat chicken and two Fox Bros. sides
- Half chicken plate with two Fox Bros. sides
Every one of Hattie B’s heat levels will be available during the pop-up including Southern (no heat), mild, medium, damn hot, and shut the cluck up.
Hattie B’s Atlanta location is one of the most anticipated openings of the year. The hot chicken restaurant was set to open at the end of 2017 but construction and permitting delays have caused the date to be pushed several times. The opening is now set for this spring.
